Mud is fairly easy to remove from carpet whether it is dry or wet mud. It is important to look at the mud to see if there is a red colour which indicates a presence of iron. If it is dry with iron present, treat it as a rust stain.
To remove mud from carpet follow these steps:
1. If the mud is dry, brush off the loose, excess dirt.
2. Apply a small amount of mild liquid carpet cleaning solution directly onto the stain.
3. Blot the stain dry with a white, clean cloth.
4. Continue blotting until the stain is completely removed.
5. Repeat if necessary.
6. Dry by blotting with a clean cloth.
Dave’s Tip:
When buying a door mat always try to get a 2 step size, so that both feet go on the mat before someone enters through the door.
