- 1. Let the chocolate dry so you can scrape off as much as possible using a dull knife
- 2. Vacuum the excess flakes and crumbs
- 3. Treat the mark with a regular carpet spot remover or hot water. Blot the stain
- 4. If the stain persists, turn on your iron to a non-steam setting.
- 5. Place some absorbent paper towel over the stain
- 6. Iron the paper over the stain to lift the chocolate. It is important to keep the temperature steady. Too much heat will melt the chocolate and possibly cause more staining, too little heat will not lift the chocolate.
- 7. Use as many paper towels as needed while the chocolate is absorbed.
- 8. Repeat the cycle until the chocolate is removed.
Everyone is a sucker for chocolate. Some more than others. But most would agree that chocolate on carpet is not so desirable. Chocolate can leave deep brown stains on your carpet and a distinct odour. It is important to act quickly when a chocolate stain appears.
To clean chocolate from carpet:
Dave's Tip: Never hurry a stain removal process, slow and steady is better, a continuous slow removal of choclate is better. Never rub across the stain as it will spread.
